Police spot car used to kidnap Indian girl in Bahrain

ManamaPolice have apparently spotted the car used to kidnap an indian girl in Hoora last night. However the child is still missing.

Five-year-old  Sarah was kidnapped, while she was left alone for less than a minute in her mother’s car in one of the most vital roads in Hoora.

According to the girl’s uncle, Anish, the incident took place around 7.15pm near Golden Sands apartments. He told DT News that Sarah was kidnapped after her mother had picked her up as usual from her babysitter's, also in Hoora.

According to latest information, the car was found abandoned near KFC, in Hoora. According to sources, the GPS in the car stopped working a few minutes after the child was kidnapped in the car. This could be because the kidnapper disposed off the device.

“On their way back home, she (the mother) stopped the car at a cold store to buy water, leaving Sarah in the back seat. This took less than a minute. When she came out of the store, she saw her car being driven away quickly. She ran after the car, along with some passers by, but in vain,” Anish elaborated.

The desperate family complained to Hoora Police Station, after making a post on Facebook that was circulated nationwide. Sources at Interior Ministry confirmed that a manhunt had been
launched.

“My sister’s car, a green Suzuki Alto with registration plates 315820, is owned by the company she works for. It is equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS). The last location of the car was in the Diplomatic Area. But it disappeared after that. The kidnapper must have got rid of the device,” Anish added.

A similar incident occurred in Hamad Town in April 2015 when a Bahraini drug addict hijacked a car that was parked for a couple of minutes by its female driver.

The man drove off the vehicle without realising that there was a child inside the car.

He abandoned the car a few blocks away when he found the crying toddler. The police arrested the man within a short period of time.
