Karting Thrills Galore!
Manama : Hussain Hasan and Ahmed Ebrahim claimed a victory apiece in the sixth round of the 2015/2016 Bahrain SWS Sprint Championship (SSWS), held over the weekend at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir.
Hasan won an exciting first race with the first five finishers all classified within two seconds of the winner; while Ebrahim followed suit with a fine win in race two to cap another exciting edition of the Bahrain Karting Sprints Championship (BKSC).
In the first race, Abdulla Buhindi was on pole after clocking a best lap of one minute 13.047 seconds during qualifying, while Hasan starting from fifth, managed to make his way to the front for the chequered flag as the youngster completed the 11-lap race in 13 minutes 35.896 seconds.
Buhinidi (+0.753 seconds) was a close runner-up behind, while Ali Baslar (+1.233) rounded out the podium finishers. Khaled Alsaei (+1.290) finished in fourth and Mohammed Mattar (+1.541) fifth.
Rounding out the top eight were Ahmed Ebrahim (+2.217), Hussain Alkhateb (5.247) and Vishesh Mahtre (+6.996).
In race two, Ebrahim (13:28.663) was the man to beat as he claimed victory ahead of Mahtre (+3.265) who improved considerably on his classification from race one to finish as runner-up, with Ebrahim. Ali Abdulla (+3.359) claims third.
In fourth was Alkhateb (+3.654), fifth Mattar (+8.9220), sixth Buhindi (+9.226), Baslar (+9.256) and Hasan (+9.390) making the top eight.
The meeting was organised by BIKC in cooperation with Bahrain International Circuit and the Bahrain Motor Federation with all participants competing in identical Sodikarts.
At the end of all the action, the winners were presented their respective trophies in a podium ceremony. The next round of the SSWS is scheduled to take place on April 29.
