Arab States Condemn US Envoy Remarks
The foreign ministries of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Syria, Palestine, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Oman, along with the Secretariats of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the League of Arab States, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, have strongly condemned remarks made by the US Ambassador to Israel regarding the acceptance of Israeli control over territories belonging to Arab states, including the occupied West Bank.
In a joint statement, the ministries expressed deep concern and firm rejection of what they described as dangerous and provocative statements. They said the remarks represent a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and pose a serious threat to regional security and stability.
The statement stressed that the comments directly contradict the vision previously outlined by US President Donald Trump, as well as the comprehensive plan aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza. The plan focuses on containing escalation and creating a political horizon for a comprehensive settlement that guarantees the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state.
The ministries reaffirmed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories or any other occupied Arab lands. They rejected any attempts to annex the West Bank, separate it from the Gaza Strip, or expand settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories. They also strongly opposed any threat to the sovereignty of Arab states.
The joint statement warned that continued expansionist policies and illegal measures would only fuel further violence and undermine peace efforts in the region. The ministries called for an end to such inflammatory remarks and reiterated their unwavering commitment to the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to establishing an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with the end of occupation of all Arab territories.
