A vision for change

Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision in supporting peaceful co-existence and promoting inter-religious and civilisational dialogue has become an international model for religious and ethnic tolerance and co-existence. 

This came as the success of “This Is Bahrain” function in Los Angeles, the USA was hailed by Ministers of the Kingdom of Bahrain. 

Citing the launch of Bahrain Declaration and the inauguration of King HamadGlobal Centre for Inter-Faith Dialogue and Peaceful Co-existence, the Ministers affirmed that “This Is Bahrain” contributes enormously in promoting the Kingdom’s pioneering experience in peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance worldwide.

“The inauguration of Bahrain Declaration and King Hamad Global Centre for Inter-Faith Dialogue and Peaceful Co-existence are added values to the Kingdom’s honourable record,” said Information Minister and Board of Trustees Chairman of Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi. 

Al Romaihi asserted that Bahrain represents an international model of intolerance, peaceful co-existence and respect for all people regardless of their religious, doctrinal and ethnic affiliation.

Underscoring the need for the world to avail of the Bahraini experience to foster peace and tolerance and end conflicts, violence and terrorism, the minister called on mass media as well as the regional and international educational, cultural and religious institutions to respond effectively to the Royal humanitarian initiatives and promote the noble principles of Bahrain Declaration. 

Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan described Bahrain as an advanced civilisational model thanks to the comprehensive Royal reform project that has promoted freedom, democracy social justice and sovereignty of the law. 

The Minister praised the achievements of “This Is Bahrain” pointing out that King Hamad Global Centre includes a museum featuring historic and modern models of religious freedom and co-existence in Bahrain which has hundreds of mosques, churches and temples.

Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza lauded the development process in Bahrain since HM King Hamad’s accession to the throne. He praised the contribution of “This Is Bahrain” function in spotlighting the Kingdom’s strides in promoting religious freedom, tolerance and co-existence. 

Dr Mirza also commended the unlimited support given to “This Is Bahrain” by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier and Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
