Make ‘informed’ choices, says TRA

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) yesterday announced new amendments to its Quality of Service (“QoS”) Regulation setting out key targets for licensed operators to achieve in delivering services to consumers. Under the new framework, the office of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority will make available the quality of service information on telecom service providers in the Kingdom to consumers.

This will “protect consumer rights and their ability to make better-informed choices, based on quality and operators’ performance,” said TRA’s acting General Director, Shaikh Nasser bin Mohamed Al-Khalifa.

TRA, as per the updated QoS, will publish comparative indicators for numerous categories including Service Provision, Reported Faults, Service Restoration, Billing Accuracy, Complaints and Network Measurements of the operators in the Kingdom.
