40 Missing including Yeminis Indians and Sudanese

The expected Mekunu winds lashed southern Oman causing massive destructions and devastation on Yemen's Socotra Island.

As per Yemeni officials, 40 people including Yemeni, Indian and Sudanese citizens were missing. The wind washed away thousands of animals. Electricity and telephone connections were disrupted due to heavy floods. The Meteorological departments warned that Mekunu was gaining strength and would be extremely severe when it crashes into the mainland Arabian Peninsula.
