Emirates and Air Canada Extend Strategic Alliance Through 2032

Emirates and Air Canada have announced an expanded commitment to their strategic partnership—extending their reciprocal codeshare and loyalty agreement until December 31, 2032.

The extension builds on the success of their three-year collaboration, launched in 2022, which has already connected over 550,000 travellers across 56 shared routes linking Canada, the U.S., Dubai, and destinations across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond.

Under a newly signed memorandum of understanding, the two global carriers plan to deepen cooperation, enhance customer experience, and potentially introduce new Canadian gateways to their growing codeshare network. The agreement also promises improved services for cargo operators, supporting rising trade demands between the regions.

Leaders Hail a Partnership That “Connects the World”

Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer and President of Cargo, praised the early renewal of the alliance, calling it a strategic win for both customers and the Canadian economy.

“This partnership has been highly successful, and we are proud to extend it through 2032. It supports our year-round Toronto–Dubai service and strengthens connectivity to the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. This renewal is great news for our customers—many of whom have deep ties to these regions—and for Canada as we adapt to shifting global travel and trade patterns,” Galardo said.

From Dubai, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the partnership’s impact on both passenger experience and global commerce.

“Our collaboration with Air Canada has delivered exceptional results, and its extension reinforces our shared commitment to enhancing connectivity. Beyond passenger travel, this partnership plays a vital role in expanding trade between the UAE and Canada. With stronger cargo cooperation, we aim to further support economic growth in both markets.”

A Boost for Tourism, Trade, and Future Growth

The reinforced alliance is expected to significantly strengthen tourism flows and business linkages between Canada and the UAE. With expanded cargo cooperation on the horizon, both airlines are exploring a potential joint venture for streamlined global cargo operations, designed to improve the movement of goods between North America, the Middle East, and the Indian subcontinent.

As both carriers look toward the next decade, the Emirates–Air Canada partnership is positioning itself as a powerful engine for connectivity, commerce, and growth—bridging continents and opening new pathways for millions of travellers and businesses worldwide.
