Al Janahi Triumphs in Al Ula

Hamad Al Janahi of the Royal Endurance Team and Al Zaeem Team won the first place in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques International Endurance Cup which covered a distance of 160km, held in in Al Ula Governorate, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The event was organised by the Royal Commission for Al Ula in partnership with the Saudi and International Equestrian Federations.

The race witnessed high speeds among the competitors, and the Royal Endurance Team members Al Janahi, Mohammed Al Hashemi, and Othman Al Awadhi, faced fierce competition against world-class riders, including Fabir Federico from Uruguay.

Al Awadhi withdrew from the competition due to his horse not passing the fifth stage. The sixth stage was the most exciting, as Al Hashemi and Al Janahi dominated the race and successfully finished in the lead.

Al Janahi’s horse passed the veterinary examination successfully, while Mohammed Al Hashemi’s horse failed the final veterinary examination.

Al Janahi completed the six stages in 8 hours, 27 minutes, and 8 seconds, winning the race, while Federico secured second place, and Rodrigo Blanco from Spain finished third.

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, commended the support and patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain Bahrain, especially in the field of endurance sport, adding that His Majesty’s backing has contributed to achieving a new milestone for Bahraini equestrianism.

He praised the interest and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the noble vision of the government in supporting Bahraini youth in sports competitions.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad lauded the support and attention of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

He highlighted His Highness Shaikh Khalid’s commitment to supporting all Bahraini participants in international events.
