Intense staredown between Hamza Kooheji and Aidan James steals the show before BRAVE CF 42

BRAVE Combat Federation will return this week for the second event of Kombat Kingdom, on Thursday, September 24th, with the Flyweights as the center of attention. Two of the four BRAVE CF Flyweight Tournament quarter-finals co-headline the show, with Sean Santella, Jose Torres, Flavio Queiroz, and Velimurad Alkhasov all looking to land a spot on the semifinals of the greatest tournament of 2020 and the biggest grand-Prix in the division’s history.

One day before the big show, the fighters had to confirm their bouts by weighing in, and all athletes involved in the BRAVE CF 42 card made weight. Most of the staredowns were friendly, except for Hamza Kooheji and Aidan James, as both men looked ready to fight a day early. Set for a 63 kg Catchweight bout that could have Bantamweight title implications, Aidan (62,7 kg) and Hamza (63 kg) didn’t acknowledge each other but went straight in for their staredown, face-to-face.

There seemed to be no love lost between the pair of them, like Aidan, using a Wales face mask, and Hamza, draped in a Bahrain flag stared each other down for one last time before fight night. In the two main fights, all athletes seemed in good spirits despite tough weight-cuts to make the 125-pounds limit.

Striker Flavio Queiroz (56,9 kg) and sambo world champion Velimurad Alkhasov (56,8 kg) will face each other in the co-main event of BRAVE CF 42, while the main event will be a duel between two of the United States’ best Flyweights.

Jose Torres stepped on the scale at 56,8 kg, while his opponent, Sean Santella, officially weighed in at 56,9 kg. BRAVE CF 42 takes place at the Bahrain National Stadium, on September 24th, in a behind-closed-doors event, and is available worldwide through BRAVE CF TV, with Abu Dhabi Sports broadcasting the show for the Middle East and North Africa region, and Fite TV showcasing BRAVE CF 42 for North American fans.
