Eileen Gu Wins Olympic Halfpipe Gold
Eileen Gu ended her Olympic gold medal wait on Sunday, winning the women's freeski halfpipe at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and cementing her status as the most decorated freestyle skier in Winter Games history.
The 22-year-old star, who had already secured silver medals in slopestyle and big air events, scored a best of 94.75 at Livigno Snow Park, narrowly surpassing her China teammate Li Fanghui, who scored 93.00. Britain’s Zoe Atkin claimed the bronze medal.
Gu’s victory marks a historic achievement in freestyle skiing, showcasing her dominance across multiple events at the 2026 Games.
