Rotax Launches RMC Viking Trophy in Denmark
BRP-Rotax has announced a brand-new addition to the Nordic Rotax racing calendar: the RMC Viking Trophy. Scheduled from April 1–5, 2026 at Denmark’s Vojens Motorsport Arena, the event invites drivers from across Scandinavia—and beyond—to compete against an international lineup.
The competition offers more than just trophies. Winners in six Rotax categories—Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2, and DD2 Masters—will earn entries to the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy Europe in Le Mans, France, taking place from July 14–18. They will also receive RMC Grand Finals tickets for the season highlight in Algarve, Portugal, in November.
The RMC Viking Trophy is designed as a gateway to elite Rotax racing. Scandinavian drivers will have the opportunity to gain international racing experience while competing for the first-ever Rotax Viking title. Denmark and the Nordic nations are known for producing top motorsport talent, many of whom start their careers in karting, and this event aims to continue that tradition while welcoming participants from all countries.
The race weekend begins with practice sessions on April 1–2, followed by official racing from April 3–5. Supporting partners include the national federation DASU, local club Vojens Karting Klub (VKK), authorized Rotax distributor Go-Kart Danmark, and the wider Nordic Rotax network.
“The RMC Viking Trophy aims to unite Scandinavian countries in one special karting event, promoting fair competition and the true spirit of Rotax racing,” said Robert Schluenssen, owner of Vojens Motorsport Arena. “Our 1,400-metre circuit, located just 80 km from the German border, offers ideal facilities for historic karting action. We have also introduced sustainable initiatives, operating almost independently with green energy in line with Scandinavian culture.”
Ture Hansen, Secretary General of DASU, added: “We are proud to welcome the RMC Viking Trophy to Vojens. This initiative strengthens the Nordic karting community, offering drivers a great platform to compete, learn, and develop. DASU values BRP-Rotax’s commitment and sees this event as an important step toward bringing Vojens onto the FIA Karting calendar.”
