Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup Returns in 2027

The Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup is set to return in 2027 following another record-breaking edition in 2026, with registrations now officially open.

The tournament, widely regarded as the region’s Tournament of Choice, will take place from January 8–10, 2027, welcoming teams from around the world to compete in Abu Dhabi.

The three-day format, introduced in 2026, proved hugely popular, attracting more than 8,000 spectators to Zayed Sports City and featuring 3,500 players from local, regional, and international teams. A total of 244 teams, ranging from Under-8s to Under-16s, participated last year, including 86 international teams from 18 countries across 4 continents. The girls’ categories also saw a record 44 teams compete.

Off the pitch, fans enjoyed the City Village, a vibrant hub of entertainment and activations supported by the Club’s partners. Highlights included the e& Gaming Zone, Puma pop-up, Aldar’s Fahid Island showcase, DJ performances, and appearances by tournament ambassador and Manchester City legend Nedum Onuoha and host FG.

With the 2027 edition confirmed, teams are now invited to register to compete for the prestigious Abu Dhabi Cup. Individual age-group winners will also be entered into a prize draw to win a trip to a City Football Group club, providing a chance to train at a professional facility and watch the first team in action.

Simon Hewitt, Tournament Director and Director of Football Operations MENA, said:
"The 2026 edition was a landmark event. Expanding the tournament to three days allowed players to enjoy more time on the pitch, experience the atmosphere of City Village, and explore Abu Dhabi. The response was incredible."
