Asian Youth Games Table Tennis Heats Up

The Asian Youth Games Table Tennis competition at Exhibition World Bahrain continued yesterday with intense singles and doubles matches across multiple tables.
Bahrain’s Ali Mohamed narrowly lost 3–2 to Qatar’s Abdulaziz Al-Abdulla at Table 1 in the Boys’ Singles Round of 64, showing fight despite being eliminated. His performance highlighted the growing potential of the host nation’s players and set the tone for a competitive day across all tables.
Following that, the Boys’ Singles Round of 32 featured strong performances from top seeds. At Table 1, Zhou Guanhong (CHN), Li Hechen (CHN), Shunto Iwaida (JPN), and Ma Yeongmin (KOR) advanced, while Table 2 saw Sarthak Arya (IND), Jason Christian (INA), and Ritvik Gupta (IND) move through, setting up exciting matchups for the next stage.
The Girls’ Singles Round of 32 continued the high-level play. At Table 1, Hend Zaza (SYR) and Wei Jingming (CHN) advanced, while Divyanshi Bhowmick (IND) and Choi Seoyeon (KOR) also moved through. Table 2 saw Jannaj Alarcon (PHI) and Hansini Mathan (IND) progress, and at Table 4, Lin Wan-rong (TPE) and Su Tsz Tung (HKG) advanced, ensuring strong competition across the event.
In the Mixed Doubles semifinals, China secured both victories and confirmed its dominance in the doubles draw. At Table 1, Tang Yiren/Hu Yi (CHN) defeated Syndrela Das/Sarthak Arya (IND) 3–2 in a thrilling five-game battle. Meanwhile, at Table 2, Yao Ruixuan/Li Hechen (CHN) swept Li Ki Ho/Mak Ming (HKG) 3–0. These results set the stage for an all-Chinese gold medal match.
The Mixed Doubles final is scheduled for today at 4:10PM, Table 1, Hall 10, guaranteeing China the gold medal and bringing an exciting conclusion to the doubles competition at the Games.
