Golden Dreams Await AYG Boxing Stars

The third Asian Youth Games in Bahrain continued yesterday with fireworks in the ring, as young fighters from India, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan traded heavy blows in the semifinals at Exhibition World Bahrain. Every contest was hotly contested, setting up an exciting day of gold medal bouts.

In the girls’ 46kg division, India’s Khushi Chand and China’s Luo Jinxiu both secured 5–0 victories over Mongolia’s Altangadas Altanzul and Chinese Taipei’s Chen Fang-yu to reach the finals. India’s Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari continued her country’s strong run in the 54kg category with a 5–0 win over Kazakhstan’s Ramina Makhanova, while Uzbekistan’s Kumriniso Muhammadova edged Mongolia’s Azjargal Aminaa 4–1. The 66kg girls’ bracket saw India’s Harnoor Kaur and Kazakhstan’s Ayaulym Ospanova claim 5–0 victories, and in the +80kg semifinals, Anshika (IND) defeated China’s Guo Jiaqing 5–0, with Kazakhstan’s Elnura Kongyrat stopping Iran’s Fatemeh Rastegarmehjenabi in round three.

The boys’ contests were equally intense. In 50kg, India’s Lanchenba Singh Moibungkhong dominated DPR Korea’s An Phyong Guk 5–0, while Kazakhstan’s Zhumagali Nurmakhan overcame Japan’s Kira Hasegawa 4–1. In heavier weights, Daniyal Shalkarbay (KAZ) outpointed India’s Anant Deshmukh 5–0 in 66kg, Mukhamedali Rustembek (KAZ) stopped Iran’s Farhoud Ghorbani 5–0 in +80kg, and Uzbekistan’s Ibrokhim Shokirjonov edged China’s Zhang Zhengkun 3–2 in 60kg.

Tomorrow’s finals at Exhibition World Bahrain – Hall 9 feature Chand vs. Luo (girls’ 46kg), Abdugani Yorkinjonov vs. Arman Myrsabit (boys’ 46kg), and a full slate of championship bouts across all weight categories, promising a riveting conclusion to Asian youth boxing.
