Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship opens with drama
The opening race of the Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship concluded yesterday at the Bahrain International Circuit with British driver Kit Belofsky taking the win and Dutch racer Nina Gademan recovering to finish second.
Challenging conditions, including gusty winds, track dust, and a mid-race safety car, kept drivers on their toes and tested their focus throughout. Gademan told the Daily Tribune: “I fell back at the start, having to back off to avoid collisions in the dust and close racing. Once things settled, I made some clean overtakes and worked my way to second. Planning a smart move in Turn 4 really helped me gain positions through the trickier sections.”
Belofsky, who started third on the grid, added: “The track was tough, especially managing tyres in this heat. I focused on keeping them under control and making sure I could finish strong, and it worked out well.”
Belofsky’s victory now puts him at the top of the early championship standings, while Gademan’s recovery highlights her as a contender in the opening rounds. Both drivers will carry momentum into today’s second race as the championship continues in Bahrain.
