The Bahrain senior men’s national football team departed early this morning for Morocco to play two international friendlies during the October FIFA window, as preparations continue for the upcoming FIFA Arab Cup 2025 in Doha. The national squad, led by Croatian head coach Dragan Talajic, will face Morocco on October 9 in Rabat, before meeting Egypt three days later in Mohammedia. Morocco are currently ranked 11th in the world, while Egypt sit 35th. The team will then return to Bahrain on October 13 following the second match.
The team did not conduct local training before travelling, as most players had just completed fixtures in the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League. Training will resume upon arrival in Morocco.
Ahead of the trip, Talajic added Ahmed Dheyaa, Mohammed Hardan, and Riffa Club’s midfielder Ali Madan to the squad. The call-up comes as the national team continues to finetune its lineup for the Arab Cup, where Bahrain will first play a qualifying match against Djibouti on November 26 in Doha. A win would secure a place in Group D alongside Algeria, Iraq, and either Lebanon or Sudan.
The full squad includes: Ebrahim Lutfalla, Yousif Habib, Mohammed Gharably, Waleed Al Hayyam, Amine Bennadi, Hamad Shamsan, Ahmed Bughammar, AlSayed Mahmood AlMoosawi, Hazza Ali, Abdulla Khalasi, Hussain Jameel, Mohammed Marhoon, Mohammed Hardan, Vincent Emmanuel, Sayed Mehdi Sharaf, Sayed Dhiyaa Saeed, Komail AlAswad, Jassim AlShaikh, Omar Saber, Mehdi Humaidan, Hussain Abdulkarim, Abdulla AlSubaiei, Ebrahim AlKhattal, Mehdi Abduljabbar, Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Ali Madan, and Ahmed Dheyaa.
