Riffa and Hidd Cruise, Sitra and Bahrain SC Sink Further

Week two of the 2025–26 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League featured with a double-header yesterday, as Riffa swept past Sitra 3-0 and Hidd beat Bahrain SC 3-1.

Vargas shines

Riffa responded to their opening draw against Najma in style, outclassing Sitra, who remain winless. Brazilian forward Vinicius Vargas struck twice, either side of a spectacular solo effort from compatriot Wellington Moreira.

Vargas opened the scoring midway through the first half, slotting home after being picked out by Rodrigo. Moreira then produced the game’s highlight, flicking the ball beyond his marker on the byline before blasting into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

Sitra briefly thought they had pulled one back through Othman Al Hajj, only for it to be ruled out for offside. Vargas sealed the result late on, hammering into the far corner after a deft first touch from substitute Ebrahim Al Khattal’s pass.

Wade double downs Bahrain SC

At Arad, Hidd claimed back-to-back wins as Bekaye Wade scored a brace against Bahrain SC. Ahmed Musa broke the deadlock, capping a swift counterattack from Mohamed Al Akash’s cross.

Wade doubled the lead with a screamer into the top corner. He then completed his double after persistence saw his blocked effort fall kindly for a toe-poke finish.

Sami Al Husseini struck a late consolation for Bahrain SC, who, like Sitra, remain without a point after two matches.
