Historic title win for Bahrain
The Kingdom of Bahrain has clinched its fourth world title in mixed martial arts (MMA) after the Khalid bin Hamad MMA (KHK MMA)’s professional fighter Frankie Edgar won the title of the UFC-TUF 22.
Edgar knocked out Chad Mendes just two minutes into the opening round of The Ultimate Fighter Finale 22’s main event, held earlier yesterday (Bahrain Time) at the Chelsea Hall in the Cosmopolitan Hotel.
First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who attended the final, extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on historic world title. Shaikh Khalid also extended congratulations to the government, led by Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Khalid also lauded HM the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his meticulous support.
