Bahrain and Bangladesh seek to deepen trade and investment cooperation

His Excellency Mr Sameer Abdullah Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, underscored the importance of strengthening economic, investment and trade relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, calling for enhanced joint efforts to expand the volume of bilateral trade.

He made these remarks while receiving His Excellency Mr Md Rais Hasan Sarower, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Mr Nass reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment, along with the Bahraini private sector, to advancing bilateral relations by activating the role of the private sector in both countries, promoting joint investments and establishing sustainable economic partnerships. He noted that bilateral trade exceeded USD 38 million in 2024, reflecting the steady growth of economic ties, and highlighted promising investment opportunities across key sectors, including transport, tourism, healthcare, renewable energy and textiles, which offer broad prospects for cooperation and joint ventures.

Strong relations

In turn, His Excellency Ambassador Md Rais Hasan Sarower expressed Bangladesh’s pride in its strong relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain, reaffirming his country’s aspiration to exchange expertise and deepen economic cooperation.

He also confirmed the Embassy’s readiness to intensify coordination with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support partnerships between business communities and further stimulate trade and investment exchanges between the two countries.
