Dar Kulaib rally in win over Al Nasser

Dar Kulaib posted a hardearned, come-from-behind victory in four sets against Al Nasser last night in the Top Six stage of the 2023/2024 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.

The defending champions gave up the opening frame but rallied in the next three to capture the win with a 3-1 (22- 25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-23) score line.

Dar Kulaib’s Bahrain national team superstar Mohammed Yaqoob closed out the contest for Dar Kulaib with a brilliant spike. His attack was one of the key plays that helped his team come away with the win.

Dar Kulaib were also spearheaded by top talents Ali Mohammed, Hassan Alaiwi, Ali Habib, Hassan Al Warqa, Abdulla Mohammed, Mahmoud Abdulwahed and Brazilian import Caio Oliveira.

Nasser tried to overcome the tough challenge behind their leading players Ebrahim Mohammed, Yousef Khaled, Mohammed Omar, and newly signed import Pelegrin Vargas from Puerto Rico, but they could not carry on the momentum from their strong start.

Dar Kulaib posted their sixth win in seven games so far in this Top Six stage of the league, while Nasser suffered their sixth loss to go with just one win so far.

The Top Six is being played in a double round-robin to determine the cast for the Golden Square semi-finals.

Action continues tonight with Al Ahli taking on Nabih Saleh at 6.30pm.

Ahli head into the contest with five wins from six games, while Nabih Saleh have three wins from three outings.
