DP World Tour Names New Middle East Leaders

The DP World Tour has appointed Katherine Palethorpe and Freddie Schmeisser as Managing Directors for its Middle East region, effective April 6. Palethorpe will lead commercial partnerships, while Schmeisser will oversee tournaments and operational delivery.

The dual leadership reflects the growing strategic importance of the Middle East within the Tour’s global operations, allowing for a sharper focus on both tournament execution and commercial development.

Palethorpe will drive partnership strategy, emphasizing long-term relationships, commercial innovation, and sustainable growth. Schmeisser will manage tournament operations, working with host venues, partners, and stakeholders to deliver world-class events.

Commenting on her appointment, Palethorpe said, “The region presents significant opportunity for partnership development and innovation. Our focus is on deepening existing relationships while identifying new opportunities that align with our long-term ambitions.”

Schmeisser added, “The Middle East plays a central role in our global calendar. Our priority is to maintain high standards across every tournament, strengthen collaboration with host partners, and build on the strong platform already in place.”

These appointments follow Tom Phillips’ move to CEO of the Ladies European Tour, effective April 6. The revised leadership structure highlights DP World Tour’s long-term commitment to the Middle East and ensures continuity and strategic clarity as the region enters its next growth phase.
