Naser shines with women’s 400m title in Switzerland

Salwa Eid Naser made Bahrain proud once more by capturing the women’s 400 metres title at the Weltklasse Zurich meeting in Switzerland. Naser surged to an impressive victory, claiming the third Diamond Trophy of her illustrious career while shattering the record with a time of 48.70 seconds in this event, the grand finale of this season’s Wanda Diamond League.
She out paced reigning world and Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic. Competing against a stacked field seeking her first win since April over her fierce Dominican rival, the Bahrain star athlete led from the blast of the gun and held on to the lead, crossing the finish line in an exceptional meeting record.
This latest triumph complements Naser’s previous Diamond League titles from 2018 and 2019, marking the sixth overall Diamond Trophy ever won by a Bahraini athlete in the history of the Wanda Diamond League.
