The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the GCC General Secretariat and the Republic of Italy aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two sides while expanding partnerships across several sectors of mutual interest.

The agreement was signed in Rome by Albudaiwi and Antonio Tajani, Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Albudaiwi said the MoU is designed to enhance political dialogue, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and develop mechanisms for joint action, reinforcing cooperation in areas that serve the shared interests of both parties.

He noted that relations between the GCC member states and Italy continue to grow across various fields, supported by close ties and common interests. He stressed both sides' commitment to elevating the partnership to broader horizons in a way that promotes mutual interests while contributing to security, stability, and sustainable development.

Both sides also expressed confidence that the agreement will open new avenues for cooperation, strengthen communication and coordination, and support their shared aspirations for greater collaboration and prosperity.
