Coast Guard seizes illegal fishing gear

The Coast Guard Command has seized a total of 92 illegal marine traps (gargoor), 11 banned fishing nets, and 3 bottom trawl nets (kufa) in separate incidents across various coastal areas in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
It was part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the marine environment and uphold maritime security.
The Coast Guard confirmed that all necessary legal actions have been taken against the violators in accordance with national laws.
Authorities emphasized that monitoring and enforcement operations will continue in full force to prevent all forms of maritime violations.
The Coast Guard reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Bahrain’s marine resources through the strict enforcement of existing regulations.
It highlighted the crucial role these efforts play in promoting environmental security and ensuring the sustainability of marine ecosystems.
