Trump lifts tariffs on Scottish whisky following royal visit

Donald Trump announced the removal of tariffs on Scottish whisky, citing the recent state visit of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Speaking on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the decision was made “in honor” of the royal couple as they concluded their visit to the United States.

He added that the move came with little direct request, suggesting the visit played a key role in influencing the decision.

The tariff removal marks a symbolic step in trade relations between the US and the United Kingdom, following a series of diplomatic engagements during the royal visit.
