The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has succeeded in attaining numerous achievements last year. NHRA Chief Executive Officer Dr Mariam Adhbi Al Jalahma affirmed that it is in line with efforts to achieve comprehensive development of health services in the kingdom, in accordance with the highest quality and excellence standards.

Addressing a press conference to highlight the NHRA’s 2022 achievements, Dr Al Jalahma extended sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their constant support for the health sector, and directives to develop the health services in the kingdom.

She also paid tribute to the President of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH), Lieutenant-General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, for his ongoing support for the NHRA and its various programmes.

NHRA Chief affirmed that the NHRA was able to achieve its goals and meet its key performance indicators, most notably achieving international recognition of its standards for evaluating hospital performance by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua).

She also indicated that digital transformation is a major goal of the NHRA, as efforts were devoted during the 2022 to maintain and improve the electronic licensing systems, citing the launch of “Mehan” online professionals application system for licensing professionals, the “Munshaat” system for licensing health institutions, and the “Ajheza” system for registration and licensing of medical devices, in addition to the ongoing preparations to launch the “Mehan” application for smartphones to license professionals.
