Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School (BIS) has achieved the rare distinction of being rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Bahrain Education & Training Quality Authority (BQA) in what is now being recognised as one of the fastest ascents to the top in Bahrain’s education sector.
Just three years after launching its Senior Secondary programme (Grade 12), BIS has earned the highest possible rating from BQA, placing it in the elite category of institutions that meet or exceed all core national standards of quality and performance.
Rapid ascent
BQA’s inspections, known for their rigour and transparency, assess institutions on multiple pillars including students’ academic achievement, personal development, quality of teaching and assessment, and the effectiveness of leadership and governance. BIS received top marks across all categories, marking an exceptional trajectory for a school that only recently expanded to the senior level.
“This ‘Outstanding’ rating reaffirms our commitment to nurturing excellence, inspiring curiosity, and empowering every learner to thrive,” said Director Himanshu Verma. He added that the achievement reflects BIS’s long-term vision and its contribution to Bahrain’s wider educational ambitions.
Shared success
Director Ritu Verma noted that the milestone was a result of collective dedication. “This belongs to every member of the BIS family. Together, we have built a school that upholds the highest standards of learning, leadership, and holistic development,” she said.
Principal Saji Jacob also credited the recognition to the school’s community, pointing to the vision of its leadership, the commitment of staff, and the support of parents. He praised students for their relentless drive and added that the recognition would serve as motivation to reach even greater heights.
BIS now aims to sustain its momentum and deepen its commitment to delivering quality education that meets the aspirations of students and families across Bahrain.
