Formula One: Bell quits as Marussia crisis deepens

Technical consultant Bob Bell has followed team chiefs John Booth and Graeme Lowdon by tendering his resignation from the troubled Manor Marussia team, according to reliable reports Saturday.

Team principal Booth and sporting director Lowdon are set to leave at the end of the season with Bell, one of the most respected technical men in the sport, set to do the same, according to both autosport.com andmotorsport.com.

In another significant move, reported on Saturday, newly-crowned three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton’s former McLaren engineer Phil Prew is leaving to join him at Mercedes.

He is tipped to be taking a role as chief engineer in the team’s high performance powertrains operation.
