Vatican City: Pope Leo XIV sparked a massive social media frenzy over the weekend after humorously participating in the viral ‘6-7’ internet meme during a gathering with young Catholics.

The unexpected interaction was captured on video by popular Italian influencer priest Don Roberto Fiscer at St. Peter's Square.

The clip shows a group of confirmation youth teaching the pontiff the trend, which involves shouting ‘six-seven’ while moving hands up and down alternately. After a brief moment of confusion, Pope Leo smiled and mimicked the gesture, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.

Originating from online youth culture and tied to a track by rapper Skrilla, the ‘6-7’ trend functions as a nonsensical meme. Its lack of any literal meaning is the joke itself, frequently used by Gen Z and Alpha users to playfully confuse others.

The wholesome interaction has racked up millions of views on TikTok, solidifying Pope Leo’s growing online reputation as a modern, internet-savvy religious leader.
