NPCI Bharat BillPay Ltd. (NBBL), in association with Federal Bank and Lulu Exchange, has announced the official rollout of the cross-border inward bill payment service for NRIs in Bahrain.
This launch comes on the back of a successful launch with Lulu International Exchange UAE at the Global FinTech Festival in Mumbai on 20th September, 2022.
The service marks a significant milestone in India’s digital payments landscape, offering a much-needed solution for Indian expats, who until now had to depend on conventional methods to pay their domestic utility bills.
NRIs can now leverage the robust platform offered by Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) to make bill payments on behalf of their families, through LuLu Exchange’s network of branches and its money transfer app, LuLu Money.
Chaturvedi, CEO at NPCI Bharat BillPay Ltd. (NBBL), said, "With the launch of this service, we aim to provide the convenience and ease of paying bills through our BBPS platform to Non-Resident Indians.”
