Need for advanced edu institutions stressed 

Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa has emphasised the importance of setting up suitable plans and strategies that contribute in the creation of excellent educational institutions that adopt advanced modern techniques and quality education.

The Deputy Premier yesterday chaired a meeting of the Supreme Council for Education and Training Development (SCETD). He asserted the importance of creation of suitable work environment to facilitate all difficulties for this sector to flourish as it is considered a basic partner and a vital element in contributing to the educational process.

The Council meeting discussed the items on the agenda and explored the available means and capabilities to support the University of Bahrain (UoB) to enable it to carry out its educational mission in the perfect manner and to boost the process of scientific research as well as continue to offer the best educational programmes with high quality and excellence.

Shaikh Mohammed affirmed the importance of increasing the role of academic specialisations and applied technology in the University and supporting it to keep up with global trends in this aspect.

The Council reviewed strategies and plans adopted by the Bahrain Polytechnic (BP), expressing its support to all the College’s ambitious plans aimed to boost its typical successes in this aspect through continuous development of its programmes to suit labour market requirements.

The Council affirmed the importance of developing training policies aimed at boosting the expertise of educational staff and to benefit from the experience and expertise of international educational institutions, congratulating the Bahrain Polytechnic on the graduation of the second batch of its students.
