Crown Prince in Paris for climate talks
Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday met His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, ahead of the 21st Conference of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 21) in
Paris, France, today.
The COP 21 is set to focus on a new international agreement to address climate change, and Prince Salman will be attending on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
During the meeting, the Crown Prince highlighted the strong and strategic ties between Bahrain and Jordan, and added that both the countries continued to expand cooperation across a range of sectors.
Prince Salman and His Majesty the King of Jordan then discussed areas of shared interests, as well as international and regional developments, particularly within Syria.
The meeting also presented an opportunity to discuss ways to combat extremist ideologies, and other initiatives related to the COP 21 conference.
