Bahrain Businesses, in collaboration with its Strategic Partner, MENA Centre for Investment, are hosting the “MENA Industrial Summit 2016” in the first quarter of 2016.

The summit is expected to draw high attendance and interest from the region and the Arab countries. It will be a prominent regional economic event in 2016, bringing to the discussion the role of the industrial sector as one of the most important players in luring investments, the opportunities it is offering, as well as the challenges the sector is facing.

Regional and international experts from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Algeria as well as other international authorities have showed interest to take part in the summit.

Commenting on the event, Dr. Zakaria Ahmed Hejres, Chairman of Board of Trustees of MENA Centre for Investment, said: “The industrial sector is a key player in the economies of the developing countries, directly contributing to their economic growth, supporting their balance of payment and increasing income of governments. Most importantly, the sector creates jobs with rewarding income, and mobilises other vital sectors towards an increased national economic growth.”

One main objective behind hosting the MENA  Industrial Summit is to attract foreign investments to the industrial sector, which can result in a higher added value to the industrial production, and ultimately raising the value of exports from the Middle East and North Africa region.

The summit will be held under the theme “Towards a Sustainable Industrial Sector in the MENA region”. Convening for two days, it will create a platform to exchange views, expertise, and knowledge in the sector and the latest strategies and solutions adopted globally. Participants will brainstorm 11 industrial-related topics and causes, and put recommendations on them.
