Jewellery Arabia: Exhibitors eye weekend turnout

Exhibitors are expecting a good response to the ongoing Jewellery Arabia during the weekend.

According to Ebrahim Al Hajeri, Senior Marketing Officer of Al Zain Jewellery, the response for the exhibition, which began on Tuesday, has so far been satisfactory. However, they expect heavy footfall today and tomorrow. According to him, solitaires and high-end jewellery are high in demand at the exhibition.

Aline Achkar Layyous, Regional Sales Manager of Al Zain Jewellery, told DT News that the response this year had been much more enthusiastic than the previous year. They said to have received a lot of new customers this year, adding that the focus had been on high-end and bridal sets. Layyous also said that their collection of natural pearls and trendy designs too received a good response from the customers. She said that during every exhibition, they launched a new collection of jewellery; this year, it was Arab Deco and Maharaja collections with a twist.

Marketing Manager of Bahrain Jewellery Centre (BJC) Noushad Abdul Hameed expressed his satisfaction over the response received by his company, which is this year’s largest exhibitor with 40 different brands. He said that BJC received a good response from day 1 itself and the trend continued on next day too. Hameed said that there was more demand for women’s watches this year. Italian, USA and German-made jewellery too were in high demand, he added.

Walter Dantis, Head of Retails of SIA, said there was a fall in the number of Saudi visitors this year, but expects huge turnout over the weekend. “The pleasant weather will also boost the customer turnout during the weekend. Therefore, we are expecting more customers on Friday and Saturday from Bahrain as well as other GCC countries,” he said.
