Bird hit causes delay for Delhi-Dubai Emirates flight

A Delhi-Dubai Emirates flight suffered a bird strike late on Tuesday night, causing delays, Gulf Times reported.

Flight EK515 was reportedly rescheduled and landed in Dubai at 5.10pm on Wednesday, the airline said on its website.

A passenger told to Gulf Times Tuesday’s flight, originally scheduled for arrival in Dubai at 11.50pm, was eventually cancelled after the incident. The passenger added that 300 passengers were moved to a hotel in New Delhi on Wednesday 6am local time.

An Emirates spokesperson reportedly confirmed the delay was due to “a technical issue involving a bird strike”.

The spokesperson added: “Emirates apologises for any inconvenience caused and is providing all possible assistance to affected passengers. The safety of our passengers and crew is of utmost importance and will not be compromised.”
