Try brisk walking

Brisk walking, sometimes also referred to as speed walking, is a type of exercise where a person walks quickly to increase the heart rate and get in shape. It can be a great way to lose weight and increase physical fitness.

Walking requires minimal equipment, can be done at any time of day and at your preferred speed. Walking is also a great form of physical activity for people who are overweight, elderly or who haven’t exercised in a long time.

Regular brisk walking can help you to maintain a healthy weight, prevent or manage various conditions including heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, strength your bones and lift your mood.

To get health benefits, try to walk for at least 30 minutes as briskly as you can on most days of the week.

If it’s too difficult to walk for 30 minutes at a stretch, do regular small bouts (10 minutes) 3 times per day and gradually build up to longer sessions.

However, if your goal is to lose weight, you will need to do physical activity for longer than 30 minutes each day.

It’s best to dress light when you do physical activity. Heavy dress increases sweating and builds up body temperature, which can make you uncomfortable during a walk or possibly cause skin irritation.

You can burn 90-360 calories walking for 30 minutes, depending on how much you weigh and how fast you walk.
