AMH Charity Golf to tee off today

The 18th Annual American Mission Hospital (AMH) Charity Golf Tournament is all set to tee-off today under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at His Majesty’s Private Golf Course in Safriya. 

This three-day high- profile charity tournament is organised by the American Mission Hospital to raise funds for the Hospital’s Community Outreach programme as well as for its new clinics and hospital equipment. 

The first 20 of 45 teams from sponsoring companies as well as independent teams, will tee off with a shotgun start at 7:30 am with an official opening ceremony, attended by VIPs, Ministers and leading representatives from sponsoring companies to be held at 12 noon and followed by a second round of golfers teeing off for the afternoon’s play at 12.30pm. 

The tournament is played in the ever-popular Texas Scramble format so that every team has a sporting chance to win with several side contests adding to the fun and excitement. 

AMH Senior Manager – Events, and Island Classic Organiser, Mary O’Shaughnessy said, “The tournament is eagerly awaited by golfers from all over the Gulf region as it provides a unique opportunity to play on His Majesty’s Private Golf Course.”

O’Shaughnessy thanked HM the King for providing his private golf course in support of the AMH Island Classic Golf event. 

The culmination of the event will be a Gala Award Dinner on November 19 at the Diplomat Radisson Blu, where sponsoring companies will be honoured for their support.
