Westin easily beat Sofitel

Westin defeated Sofitel Hotel by 36 runs in the latest round of matches of the Fourth Inter-Hotel Charity Cricket Tournament, 2015 at the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel and Spa recreation area.

Batting first, Westin managed a challenging 63 from four in its six overs thanks to a fine knock by man of the match Shehzad (39 off 19 deliveries, 3x4, 2x6) with good support from Hardeep (9 off 9 balls) and Abi (8 off 5 balls, 1x6) as Cahndana (two for eight) returned the best bowling figures.

Sofitel Hotel in reply were dismissed for just 27 for six from 5.2 overs with Dyashan (14 off 10, 1x6), the main scorer and Hardeep (one for three) the best of the bowlers.

In another match, Movenpick easily beat Crowne Plaza by six wickets after the latter were bowled out for 26 in 5.5 overs with most of the runs coming from Sreeni (6 off 5, 1x4) and Krishna (6 off 13) with Fernando (one for four) and man of the match Taranga (one for three) picking up a wicket apiece.

Movenpick in reply easily reached the target scoring 27 without loss in two overs as Taranga (17 off 10, 2x6) and Nalaka (6 off 3, 1x4) secured the victory.

All matches start from 6pm on a daily basis with the group matches concluding tomorrow, with the quarter finals set for Sunday and the semi-finals and finals on Monday.

All proceeds from the tournament are being donated to the 2015 official charity partner, the Hope Institute.
