Engineering win Bapco Cup

Engineering defeated Security 1-0 thanks to a second half goal by Stewart Jones to clinch the Bapco InterDepartmental Cup in the final match last night at the Awali Football Grounds. 

The Engineering side lined up with captain Ahmed Marhoon, goal keeper Mohammed Kamal, along with Faisal Nahash, Abdulla Juma, Hisham Hassan, Saeed Ahmed, Ahmed Asfoor, Maithem Abdulla and Stewart Jones and they battled hard in the first half to go in at the half-time 0-0 against Security who were earlier crowned league champions.

Security, who started with goal keeper Nabeel Abdulla, captained by Mahmood Abdul Razaq, Ahmed Faraj, Mohammed Jabbar, Hussain Abdali, Abdulwahed Isa, Abdulla Marzooq, Abdulnabi Makki and Hussain Ahmed were unravelled in the ninth minute of the 30 minute second half when substitute Mohammed Neamat fed a ball to Faisal Nahash who supplied the assist for Jones to net the only goal of the match.

Despite stepping up after the goal went against them, Security who also introduced substitutes Ahmed Ali, Mohammed Dossari and Hassan Qaed in the fray could not find an equaliser. Other teams in the league and knockout were-Tatweer, Oil Processing Department (OPD) North, Oil Processing Department (OPD) South, Maintenance, Oil Storage and Export, Medical and Health Safety, Marketing. 

The final was played under the patronage of Bapco Chairman, Adel Khalil Al Moayyed who presented trophies to the finalists after the match.
