The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) recently sponsored the Ministry of Interior’s recent Anti-Drug National Campaign. The initiative is in line with the company’s efforts to enhance public awareness on the dangers of drug abuse.
As part of the sponsorship, Bapco’s Manager – Public Relations, Ali Yacoub Al Meftah presented a sponsorship cheque to the Director of the General Directorate of Crime Detection & Forensic Evidence, Colonel Mubarak bin Howail.
Upon the conclusion of the meeting, Colonel Mubarak expressed thanks to Bapco’s Management for their genuine support in fostering the efforts aimed at community welfare.
Bapco’s General Manager HR & Administration Ghassan Ali Al-Muhanna emphasized Bapco’s role as a key contributor to the Kingdom’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and its national standing as a leader in this key domain.
“Drug addiction is a global epidemic, which has unfortunately spread over many countries and continents. Combatting drug abuse requires high levels of cooperation and coordination between relevant authorities, on national, regional and global fronts as well as a keen willingness and the most stringent of control measures to curb this epidemic and prevent its spread”, Al-Muhanna continued.
“The company places overwhelming emphasis on protecting, preserving and developing the various spheres of the Kingdom’s aspired development, including environment, health, safety, education and other major areas of advancement,” he said.
“In recent years, Bapco has successfully accomplished a number of ambitious initiatives aimed at serving the nation, within the framework of CSR to foster and boost the sustainable development of the Kingdom. The company’s initiatives are best explained through its year-round sponsorship of various initiatives and its growing interest in developing Bahrain and its people, leaving no stone unturned on the fast track to long-term progress and development,” Al-Muhanna concluded.
