Invasion of privacy: Suspect remanded
Manama : A suspect was remanded in custody, pending investigation, yesterday for using social media channels to infringe on the privacy of others.
Acting Chief Prosecutor in the Northern Governorate, Abdulrahman Al Maouda said the suspect was caught following a report filed by the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption & Economic & Electronic Security.
The authority found that an individual has misused communication devices and disseminated information via social media infringing on the privacy of other individuals.
At the Public Prosecution’s order, the suspect was apprehended and questioned and he admitted the charges levelled against him.
The Prosecution decided to remand him pending further investigation. Also, witnesses testimonies and examination of the devices found in his possession were also underway.
