SIF to conduct science contest

The Sastra Pratibha Contest (SPC) 2018 will be conducted on May 31 from 11am to 12pm in all the participating schools in Bahrain. 

This was announced in the Science India Forum (SIF) Bahrain initiation meeting of the activities for the year 2018, at Brilliant Academy. 

Representatives from The Indian School Bahrain, New Millennium School, The New Indian school, The Asian school, The New Horizon School, Bahrain India school, Al Noor school and Quality Education school attended the meeting.  

The meeting was presided over by SIF President Dr. Vinod Manikkara. SIF Chief Patron Mohammed Al Sinan and advisory board members delivered their speeches and interacted with the teachers and the school coordinators.

Those students wish to participate in the contest are requested to register their names through their respective schools by before 22nd April 2018. 

SPC-2018 Study material on contribution towards Science, Technology and Mathematics will be made available on the www.sifbahrain.com website from 30th April 2018.

There will be 3 categories for SPC contest:  Sub-Junior (5th to 7th grade), Junior (8th to 10th grade) and Seniors (11th and 12th grade). 

The SPC is conducted in two phases. The first phase will be objective questions.  

In the second phase 80 students who have topped in the first phase will be attending a Science Camp whereby they will be tested on scientific reasoning, analytical skills, viva voce, research paper submission etc. Students who score high marks will be selected by National Science Movement (Vijnana Bharati) India for the title “SASTRA PRATIBHA”. 

The students who score “A+” Grade and above will be honoured at Science India Gala (award ceremony). The whole process of this contest will be free of cost to the students. 

All SIF Bahrain executive, ladies wing and committee members were present in the meeting. In the meeting, last year’s SIF activities and its achievements reviewed and further the present year’s plan of action also explained to the attendees.
