Dawn of the new session at NMS-DPS

The New Millennium School DPS Bahrain, began its new academic session 2018-19, on Tuesday, 3rd April.

Children were welcomed to the new grades by their homeroom teachers. The colourful and vibrant corridors and classrooms, displayed the creativity of the faculty members. The décor of the classrooms showcased the school’s culture of love and care and displayed the strong bond between the teachers and the students.

The children were welcomed in special assemblies, hosted by the teachers. The assemblies were based on inculcating values of hard work, sincerity and dedication among the children and also grooming them as responsible individuals. The children were thrilled to see their teachers perform.

Welcome cards consisting of the teacher’s welcome message, were given to the students which increased their enthusiasm and ensured better attachment to the new homerooms. In the primary grades, the day was planned with various activities so as to make the children comfortably settle down to the new homerooms. While in the middle school and secondary level, more emphasis was given on interaction between the teachers and the students so as to counsel and create a bond and also prepare the children for the challenges of the upcoming session.

As a strategic planning towards achieving excellence in this academic session, many innovations have been implemented in the teaching learning process. The emphasis in the primary will be on strengthening the home school bond, improving reading and writing skills of children, to connect lessons to real life situations and also help the children discover joys of learning. Lesson planning at the middle school and secondary grades will aim at gaining competency in various external and internal examinations, preparing children to meet the challenges of the world and also making learning interesting by connecting to life.
