Excitement galore for Spring of Culture

Manama : The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) and the Embassy of Italy in Bahrain have announced bringing together an exciting array of cultural programme to Bahrain this month, in the framework of the “Spring of Culture”. 

Under the umbrella of the “Spring of Culture”, on 25th March at the Cultural Hall (8pm), the Italian duo “Etnopolis” will be taking their audience on a musical journey. Rooted in a common Italian and Mediterranean cadence, internationally acclaimed Italian violinist Luca Ciarla and extraordinary accordion player Antonino De Luca will perform Ciarla’s most popular compositions, combining traditional folk traditions with contemporary reverberations. Ciarla has performed in renowned concert halls and festivals in more than 60 countries.

On 27th March at 7pm, in celebration of the International Theatre Day, the Bahrain National Theatre will inaugurate SCENAMADRE, a leading exhibition curated by the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts of Turin. With the creative use of models and ‘maquettes’, visitors will get a glimpse into the intriguing world of theatre, by exploring the history and evolution of scenography and theatre set designs through different historical periods and artistic disciplines. The exhibition will be open to the public till the 27th of May 2018.

On 28th March, mezzosoprano Laura Capretti and piano virtuoso Francesco Maccarrone, unite their talents and musical acumen from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music in Torino, to bring an exceptional evening of classical music to Bahrain. The concert will take place at the Cultural Hall at 8pm.
