HM hails Bahrain’s legacy in peaceful co-existence

ManamaHis Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence Board of Trustees’ Chairman Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Daij Al-Khalifa, Secretary-General Dana Khamis Alzayani, as well as its members at Al-Safriya Palace yesterday.

HM the King had issued a royal order establishing the global centre and appointing its members. He congratulated them all, commending their competence and contribution to promoting Bahrain’s stance, regarding the protection of religious liberties and respect of intellectual and cultural diversity.

HM the King described the established of the milestone as the pinnacle that epitomises Bahrain’s long-standing historic and pioneering role in promoting the values of co-existence and tolerance, and endeavoring to build bridges and cultivate dialogue between cultures and religions. 

“The centre will contribute to consolidating Bahrain’s international standing as a global hub for hosting conferences and lectures that foster the culture of peace, openness and co-existence between all cultures”, HM the King said.

HM said that he looks forward to the pivotal role which will be played by the global centre so that it could become a source of inspiration for other nations, adding that Bahrain and its people have set a model to emulate for embracing the principles of friendship, respect and human rapprochement.  

His Majesty reiterated Bahrain’s determination to preserve its core fundamentals which protect liberties and value respect of religious, intellectual and cultural pluralism. The meeting focused on the foundations and required duties of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence. 

HM the King wished the chairman and members success in assuming their duties. Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Daij Al-Khalifa expressed deepest thanks to HM the King, hailing the royal trust and directives.
