HRH CP crowns winners of HM King’s Cup, IFHRA
Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister yesterday attended His Majesty King Hamad Cup and HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship (IFHRA) held at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
HRH the Crown Prince expressed his pleasure at the opportunity to attend the event on behalf of HM King Hamad, noting the Kingdom’s significant achievements in the sport of horse racing under His Majesty’s leadership.
HRH the Crown Prince highlighted His Majesty’s long-standing commitment to promoting equestrian sports among Bahrain’s youth on the basis that the Kingdom’s equestrian tradition forms an important part of the Arab and national heritage.
The Crown Prince praised the efforts of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club Higher Committee for organising the championship and other horse racing events, which attract local and international participation and serve to reinforce the country’s distinctive position in the sport.
Following the conclusion of the races, HRH the Crown Prince congratulated the winners as well as all the horse owners and jockeys that took part.
HRH the Crown presented the race trophies to the winner, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa (His Majesty Cups for imported horses, and Action Charter), runner-up His Highness Shaikh Mohammad bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa (His Majesty Cup for Bahrain-bred horses), and third-placed Hamad Almraisi (His Majesty Cup for Arabian horses).
Earlier, upon on his arrival HRH the Crown Prince was received by the Commander of Bahrain’s National Guard, Lieutenant-General HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Rashid Horse racing and Equestrian Club Higher Committee, His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Vice Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the Chairman of Bahrain Royal Equestrians and Endurance Federation (BREEF) and Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Other members of the Royal Family, the Chairman of the Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Ebrahim Al Mulla, senior government officials and diplomats also attended the event.
