Manama : Teams from Bahrain Tennis Academy (BTA) and Sparta Tennis competed in the third edition of the 8&U (8 years and Under) Team Tennis Challenge Cup, held at BTA’s base at the Dilmun Club, Saar.

The meeting between the two academies featured eight players, eight-years-and-under, from each team.

Each competitor played eight short matches, once against each of the other players from the opposing team.

At the end of proceedings, Sparta were successful in claiming the Challenge Cup for the first time, winning 46 matches compared to BTA’s 18 matches.

Sparta Team Captain, Nadim Abi Ramia, was presented the 8&U Team Tennis Challenge Cup by BTA Director, Dan Barrie.

Two ‘Player of the Meet’ medals were also awarded to the most outstanding player from each team.

BTA Director, Dan Barrie, awarded Theo Fares the medal for the Sparta team, while Sparta Senior Coach, Simon Bourner, awarded Isak Texmo the medal for the BTA team.

The two organisations will meet again this Saturday for the inaugural edition of the 10&U (10 years and Under) Team Tennis Challenge Cup.
