Safer Internet Day

As part of the continuous E-Safety programme, the British School of Bahrain was celebrating Safer Internet Day 2018 (S.I.D.) last week and reviewing their message of ‘Create, connect and share respect: A better internet starts with you.’

Children have been reflecting on what upsets them when using social media and how what we create and share can actually be an incredibly positive experience.

‘Liking’ friend’s posts and commenting in a caring and supportive manner about posts or images online can help create better friendships with peers, whilst the opposite is also sadly
true.

Each child has created their own jigsaw piece highlighting a way that they can interact positively with friends and family when online.

The jigsaw piece being the reflection of how we all have our small part to play in making online interaction a happier and safer experience for everyone.

The British School of Bahrain includes the teaching of e-safety as a regular part of lessons and constantly reminds children about the importance of being safe when using technology.

Parents are also included and regular workshops have been held to support parents with their concerns and questions about children and their technology habits.
