Youth who killed his father to face trial on February 26

ManamaThe Bahraini man who killed his father under the influence of drugs in Muharraq Governorate last year was interrogated and referred to the criminal court on Tuesday, the Public Prosecution said yesterday.

The 31-year-old man stabbed his 51-year-old father on the dawn of October 21, 2017, in what has been commonly known as “Galali’s Dawn Murder”, right at the doorsteps of their house in Galali village.

The man apparently stabbed his father under the influence of Shabu aka Methamphetamine after a dispute over the former’s late stay outside the house.

The father was taken to King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH) in Muharraq, where he was pronounced dead.

The accused, in detention since the case was reported last October, was interrogated by the prosecution and will face trial before the First High Criminal Court on February 26, Family and Child Chief Prosecutor Hamad Al Qallaf confirmed on Tuesday.

Al Qallaf said the man has confessed to his crime during the interrogation, adding that the prosecution reviewed the official coroner’s report, examined the crime scene and gathered evidence before interrogating the suspect.
