Egypt cornerstone of Arab security: King

ManamaHis Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa yesterday hailed the historic role played by Egypt in the region as the “cornerstone of Arab security and stability”. 

Speaking to an Egyptian delegation led by Egypt’s House of Representatives Speaker Dr Ali Abdel-Aal at Al-Sakhir Palace, HM King hailed “the Egyptian stances, led by President Al-Sisi, in support of Bahrain” as well as steady growth in deep-rooted fraternal relations. 

The Egyptian delegation in on an official visit to the Kingdom at the invitation of the Council of Representatives. 

The visit, HM the King said, mirrors the strong and special bilateral relations, which also “resulted in contributing to the development of the democratic process in both the countries.” 

The Speaker conveyed to HM the King greetings from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, who wished Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity. He also reiterated Egypt’s support to all measures Bahrain adopts to strengthen its security and stability. 

Premier: Egypt represents Arab stability

On the same day, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa also held discussions with the visiting Egyptian delegates. 

During the talks, HRH the Premier hailed the “stability of Egypt as an integral part of Arab stability” paying tribute to the Egyptian community in the Kingdom for their contribution to the Kingdom’s development march. 

HRH the Premier also called for working together stressing the need to maintain solid stances against threats. 

The Egyptian Speaker welcomed HRH Premier’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations. 

Dr Ali Abdel-Aal conveyed President Al-Sisi’s decision to stand with Bahrain against any attempts to undermining its security and stability terming: “Bahrain’s security as an integral part of the Gulf’s security and Egypt’s security as an integral part of the Gulfs’, especially Bahrain’s.” 

The Egyptian speaker invited HRH the Premier to visit Egypt at the invitation of Egypt’s House of Representatives.
